  Not all Spars are the same. This is a particularly good one, with lots of different and seasonal grocery offers that are changed regularly. The main thing that sets one Spar over another is the quality of the staff, and here they are excellent. My interest in visiting the Crumlin Road Spar is that it's close to my work. When I can, I pop in for a fresh made-to-order sandwich or salad from the fresh food counter. There are friendly and professional staff who, even when busy, take the time to make up a first-class salad bowl. I can choose from an array of super-fresh ingredients such as tuna, boiled eggs, chicken, ham, coleslaw, beetroot, sweetcorn, and the traditional lettuce-tomato-cucumber combo. Sauces optional. £4.50, can't be bad. If you fancy some fried chicken or other hot food, you will be well-catered for. Judging by the amount of customers (lots of builders, workmen, people in uniforms, workers from the nearby Mater Hospital) going for this option, it's very popular. Sometimes on a Friday, I might push the boat out and get a tub (several sizes available) of their chicken goujons, the non-greasy kind. Delish. There's also a Subway outlet, if that's your go-to sandwich provider of choice. Fuel optional.

  The store itself is good but I would appreciate if there was a facility so people could pay at the pump and not have to go to the store to pay. It creates unnecessary queue.
